The Homeschooler's Friend

The Homeschooler's Friend (THF) is a non-profit organization and cooperative established to facilitate a strong sense of community among homeschool families in Bay County, Florida and surrounding areas.

Alliance of Bay County Homeschoolers

Alliance of Bay County Homeschoolers is an internet-based group created to forge an atmosphere of camaraderie among local homeschoolers.
ABCH requires respect for other people's chosen paths and does not endorse any particular religious, political or educational philosophy.
We seek intelligent, open-minded, forward-thinking homeschoolers who choose to explore educational opportunities for themselves and their children.
Membership is free. We provide a forum for homeschoolers to connect with others, plan events and activities, and promote knowledge in its members.

Classical Conversations Panama City

Classical Conversations is a Classical Christian Community that meets weekly and provides a committed Christian community of structure and support, along with great fellowship for the students and parents. Each of our programs utilizes the classical tools of learning and emphasizes life-long learning skills.

GEMS and Contenders

After over 15 years of wholesome and fun activities for girls and boys, the GEMS and Contenders group has decided to "return to its roots." When I originally began teaching with GEMS and Contenders, about 8 years ago, we were a very extensive group that included such activities as field trips, social functions, and family events (like other scouting type groups).....and included the twice monthly girls' and boys' club meetings.

We have always been open to all homeschoolers wishing to find a Christian club that can give their children a growing knowledge of the wonders God has placed before us and empower girls and boys to live in the world today. We will go back to our unit study program (as we had a few years ago), enabling the children to earn badges or pins for their accomplishments, as well as certificates. The highschool girls can claim GEMS as a course for credit as I will provide all the documentation they need to supply.

GEMS will be opening back up to the younger ages as well, allowing GEMS and Contenders to hold membership for all children of school age. I am currently looking for teachers for the younger girls in the elementary grades. We are also looking for someone that would like to offer a pre-k option for the younger siblings that accompany their brothers and sisters to the club meetings. We thank you for all of your support over the last years and look forward to "returning to our roots."
